26 January marks the adoption of the Indian Constitution. As is the tradition every year, The Indian High School, Dubai celebrated this day with great patriotic zeal and fervor.
H.E. Anurag Bhushan, the Consul General of India to Dubai, unfurled the Indian National Flag, to the tunes of the Indian National Anthem in the presence of the gathered Indian diaspora. The Consul General of India, read out the Presidential address by Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, extending warm greetings to all Indians on this momentous occasion.
The Guest of Honor, Mr. Virender Sehwag, the cricketing legend was warmly welcomed to the programme. He waved the Indian tricolor standing atop the ‘Machaan’ amid loud cheers from the gathering.
Dr. L.M. Pancholia, the Hon. Chairman of the Indian High School, warmly welcomed diplomats, dignitaries, students, staff and all fellow Indians. He mentioned, “The way forward lies in accepting, respecting and appreciating difference with tolerance and a sense of brotherhood and equality among all human beings.
This year marks the 67th Republic Day of India, which saw magnificent performances that lived upto this year’s theme of ‘Aadar, Ahimsa, Aman…aao saath badhen!’ Students of the Indian High School (Senior & Junior) and Indian International School, DSO had the audience spellbound with their spectacular performances.
