IHS celebrates the ‘Year of Zayed’ & 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi

To mark the "Year of Zayed" and celebrate 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Consulate General of India (Dubai), Knowledge and Human Development Authority and the Indian High School today came together to plant 100 saplings to honor the 'Founding Father' Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and another 150 saplings as a tribute to the 'Father of the Nation' Mahatma Gandhi at the Indian High School premises.

Our Honourable Chairman, Mr. Sunil Umrao Singh welcomed H.E. Vipul, Consul General of India to the UAE and Dr. Abdulla al Karam, Chairman of the Board of Directors - Director General graced the event as the Guests of Honour.

The event proceeded by releasing of 6 doves by the dignitaries to mark their support for non-violence and peace. Also, 100 balloons in the colour of the UAE National Flag and 150 balloons in the colour of the Indian National Flag were released by the students of IHS and other participating schools.
