GRADE - WISE

Grade 5 & 6 (Girls)

Children’s Day was celebrated on November 14th. This day was an opportunity to celebrate the spirit of childhood in a fun-filled and stress-free environment. Teachers presented several dances & small skits amidst the cheers and applauds by the students.

Thematic Assembly titled ‘International Tolerance Day’ was held on November 17th. During this assembly, students presented skits and PPT highlighting the importance of Tolerance in today’s world.

Annual Athletic Meet was conducted on November 18th. Through this activity, students were engaged in a day filled with sportsmanship, enthusiasm and memories to cherish. At the end of the day, they departed with a clear smile on their faces as the Ruby House emerged as House Champion followed by Sapphire House as the 1st runner up and Topaz House the 2nd runner up.

National Day was held on November 26th. Students presented small skits and songs highlighting the spirit of National Day.

Grade 5 & 6 (Boys)

Picnic planned on November 14th was cancelled due to transportation issues.

Children’s Day was celebrated on November 17th. During this day, various indoor and outdoor games were arranged for students. It helped to develop their self-esteem and personal growth by appreciating their individuality.

Value Exchange Day (making badges with value) was held on November 21st. This activity helped students in building good relationships among themselves. It also aimed to inculcate good moral values among them.

Athletic Meet tentatively scheduled in the month of November is postponed to January, 2020 due to exams and transferring of students to other campus.

Grade 7 & 8 (Girls)

Annual Athletic Meet was held on November 25th. The objective was to promote the wellbeing of one’s mind and body. Students participated in various sports activities like march past, relay, running race, long jump and shot-put. An inter-house Kho-Kho match was also included. The Emerald House won the overall trophy.

Picnic (movie time) planned on November 25th is postponed to a later date (to be advised).

Periodic Test 2 scheduled in the month of November was completed and will continue till the month of December, 2019. This assessment will help students evaluate the understanding of the concepts learnt.

Grade 7 & 8 (Boys)

Children’s Day Celebration was held on November 13th. This day was an opportunity to celebrate childhood. Different programs were arranged for students’ entertainment.

Drama Festival was conducted on November 18th. The purpose was to encourage students to overcome shyness and bring out their talents. It was also an opportunity to introduce them to theatrics. They participated with great zeal, learning from the experience making the whole festival a great success.

Special Assembly titled ‘Diabetes Day’ was held on November 18th. Through this assembly, grade 8 students presented the topic. It enlightened other students about different lifestyle techniques to prevent Diabetes and to create awareness about diabetes.

Athletic Meet was conducted on November 19th. Students participated in a wide variety of sports with great enthusiasm. They showed sportsmanship and competitiveness.

Special Assembly titled ‘UAE National Day’ was held on November 25th. During this assembly, grade 8 boys presented the topic. It aimed to instill the values of love and respect for the country they live in.

Grade 9 & 10 (Girls)

Children’s Day planned in the month of November is rescheduled for January, 2020 (3 days of mourning announced).

Grade 10 (Girls)

MEP (Talk & Worksheet) activities titled ‘Peer Pressure’ were conducted on November 12th & 13th respectively.

Grade 9 & 10 (Boys)

Thematic Assembly titled ‘Being Respectful’ was held on November 6th. Through this assembly, students from grade 10 division ‘S’ presented a video and a speech to tell that respect is the reflection of our character and behavior. They also displayed a skit to showcase that irrespective of age, gender & status everybody is subjected to respect others and to be respected in turn. It aimed to inculcate the value of respectfulness among them.

Picnic scheduled on November 7th was cancelled due to transportation issues.

Children’s Day was celebrated on November 13th. This day was celebrated to increase student’s awareness towards care, right and wellbeing. Teachers presented a colourful programme and arranged various fun filled activities for them to make this day a memorable one. They were also gifted with coffee mug and chocolates as a token of love. Birthday of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was also commemorated.

Grade 11 & 12 (Girls)

House Day was held on November 4th. This day was an opportunity for students to showcase their talents.

Mid Term Exams was concluded on November 6th.

Half Yearly Exams for grade 11 and First Model Exams for grade 12 began on this month.

Grade 11 & 12 (Boys)

House Day was held on November 10th. Students of the 4 houses participated in events like group dance, battle of bands, ramp walk, battle of strengths and movie making. They showed team spirit to compete for the top position. There was a splendid exhibition of new themes besides a lot of entertainment.

Half Yearly and First Model Examinations scheduled in the month of November were completed and will continue till December 5th.

SUBJECT - WISE

Quran Recitation was held on November 3rd & 5th for grades 7 to 10 respectively. The objective for students was to improve their knowledge of Tajweed and their ability to use voice modulation & efficiency in reciting the verses of Holy Quran. Three students were given first three prizes based on their fluency, pronunciation (Tajweed) and voice modulation. The competition scheduled on November 10th for grade 5 & 6 girls was cancelled due to clash of programs.

Islamic Quiz competitions were conducted on November 3rd, 11th & 12th for grade 5 & 6 girls and grade 9 & 10 girls/boys respectively. Through this competition, students were able to improve their knowledge and understanding of the various topics in Islamic education. They were evaluated on various topics in Islamic education. The first three best performers were awarded. The quiz scheduled on November 3rd for grade 7 & 8 girls was postponed as the Islamic teacher went on emergency leave and the quiz scheduled on November 10th for grade 7 & 8 boys was cancelled due to clash of programs.

Arabic Poem Recitation was conducted on November 5th for grade 5 & 6 girls. During this competition, students were able to grasp the basics of Arabic leading to the increase in their performance. They recited the poems with great enthusiasm. First three prizes were awarded based on the content, voice modulation and confidence level.

Arabic Quiz competitions were held on November 5th & 11th for grades 7 to 10 respectively. This competition was an opportunity for students to improve their skills, knowledge and understanding of various aspects in Arabic. The best three were selected and prizes were given.

Islamic Nasheed competitions were conducted on November 11th & 14th for grade 5 & 6 girls and grade 7 & 8 girls/boys. Students recited the poems with enthusiasm using proper voice modulation. It helped to improve their skills, knowledge and understanding about how the poems are made & recited.

Elocution Competitions were held on November 17th, 18th & 19th for grades 5 & 6 girls and 7 to 10 girls/boys. This competition helped students to develop their confidence in speaking in front of audience. It also helped them to improve their knowledge and understanding of the topic. They were evaluated on the basis of their confidence levels, ability to speak with confidence and speak without referring to any paper or a book.

PROGRAM - WISE

AUD MUN Conferences (American University Model United Nations) was concluded on November 2nd. This conference was an interactive educational experience for students that teach in an interesting and enjoyable way about the United Nations. It also helped them understand the process of international debate and negotiation that we commonly call diplomacy functions. 15 students received awards for their outstanding performance.

48th UAE National Day Celebration was held on November 26th. Selected students from grades 5 to 9 girls performed Arabic dances, drama, poem recitations and more on the topics ‘Year of Tolerance’ & ‘Expo 2020’. They also made a presentation on seven emirates with all the important information. A poem in praise of Shaikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan were recited. In general, they paid tribute to the rulers of all the emirates and also to the people of the UAE. They showed how much they respect the rulers and the people of the UAE. They were in colourful attire with the four colours of the UAE flag.

CAREER CENTRE

Canadian Universities Fair (Part 2) and Vatel Bahrain- International Hospitality School was held on November 3rd for grade 11 & 12. The purpose for students was to meet university admission officers and be informed about their programs offer, admission requirements, application process, fee structure and deadline of application.

A Special Presentation of University of Toronto (Canada) was conducted on November 5th for grade 12. Through this presentation, students were oriented about the university programs offer, admission requirements, application process, fee structure and deadline of application.

Symposium on the Advances and Career Opportunities in Medical Biotechnology planned on November 7th was cancelled. The program did not push through due to low response from students.

Information Session on IELTS Exam Preparation was held on November 10th for grade 11 & 12. This session aimed to teach the participants about techniques for preparation and acing the exam.

UK Universities Fair was conducted on November 11th for grade 11 & 12. Through this fair, students met university admission officers and were informed about their programs offer, admission requirements, application process, fee structure & deadline of application.

A Special Presentation of Brock University (Canada) was held on November 11th for grade 12. The objective was to give orientation to students about their programs offer, admission requirements, application process, fee structure and deadline of application.

European Universities Fair plus University of Tampa & Rollins College was conducted on November 13th for grade 11 & 12. Students met university admission officers and got first- hand information about their programs offer, admission requirements, application process, fee structure and deadline of application.

A Special Presentation of Vellore Institute of Technology (India) was held on November 18th for grade 12. During this presentation, students were oriented about their programs offer, admission requirements, application process, fee structure and deadline of application.

COUNSELLING CENTRE

Training on the topics ‘Assessment Tool Training’ for Counsellors and ‘CDA Licensing & Procedures’ for new Counsellors was held on November 16th. This training helped counsellors to use effectively the Assessment Tool. It also helped them understand the licensing procedures in Dubai.

LEARNING CENTRE

Training on the topics ‘Multiple Intelligences’, ‘Learning Styles’ and ‘My Personal Journey as a Special Needs Child to a Therapist’ was conducted on November 16th for LSA. The purpose was to help LSA’s to get a deeper understanding of the topics. It also helped them understand the challenges faced by a special needs child.

CONTINUOUS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Lecture on “Getting Inclusion Right” was conducted on November 4th at University of Birmingham Dubai for IST Leaders. Through this lecture, some of the global challenges and report on four instances of where these challenges have been overcome, leading to successful inclusion was reflected.

CPD Program on E-Learning- “Use of Interactive White Boards” was held from November 6th to 24th. This training helped to determine the level and effectiveness of teachers in using the interactive white boards.

Career - Coach Basic Workshop was held on November 14th at Mazaya Center, Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai for selected Guidance Counsellor. The purpose was to teach guidance counsellors the skills to help students be more informed about the better educational and career choices.

SPORTS

Keshav Ramesh of grade 12 won the Bronze Medal at CBSE National Table Tennis Championship 2019 – 2020 from November 9th to 14th at RR Public School (Noorpur) Uttar Pradesh, India.
