ATTENDANCE

No student should miss class or keep away from curricular activities conducted in the school.

A student is required to have at least 75% of attendance of the total working days to entile him to appear for the final examination. Condo nation in deserving cases is granted only when the parent applies for the leave of his son! daughter on any of the following grounds and supported by medical certificate, wherever necessary.

Sickness of the student

Student's medical treatment.

Medical treatment of the parents or confinement of the mother and the father's inability to arrange for the stay of the student.

Bereavement in the family.

Any other ground acceptable to the Principal.

According to CBSE rules a student falling short of 75% attendance is not allowed to sit for the CBSE Examination of Grades 10 & 12.


APPLICATION FOR LEAVE

Application for leave upto 15 days is to be submitted to the Principal on a prescribed form and his sanction obtained in advance of the student's proceeding on leave. No information on telephone is acceptable. Granting of leave does not necessarily mean that the student's name will be continued indefinitely. It is liable to be struck off on the expiry of leave granted and in the event of non-payment of fees. Leave is not granted during examination. Absence during any of the examinations will result in the student's detention.

Leave/Absence during the school session is recorded in the Absence/Leave Card maintained in the school. Students falling short of 75% attendance will not be eligible to sit for the final examination. Parents should make the necessary arrangement to tutor their wards to cover the scheduled portion during the leave period. Special tests will be given when the students rejoin the school.

 

PARENTS & SCHOOL

Parents and guardians are requested to co-operate with the school in its endeavor to ensure harmonious growth and development of their children.

They are requested to send their wards in proper school uniform, see that they are punctual, that they come to school with the necessary books and stationery, abide by the discipline rules and participate in co-curricular activities

Regular hours of study at home helps students develop proper study habits.

The school shall be sending at regular intervals messages, notices, reports - monthly and terminal or through the school calendar. Parents and guardians are requested to look into these and sign them. Failure to do so may put their children into great inconvenience and render them liable to be sent home.

Parents are not expected to send gifts/cake on the birthday of their wards - only Sweets/Chocolates may be distributed among their classmates if they wish to do so.

Parents, guardians or relatives are not allowed to see the students or meet their teachers during school hours without the prior permission of the Principal. No parent/guardian should contact the teacher directly. Periodic meeting of parents are held to discuss general and particular problems concerning the students.

Parents and guardians are expected to be very particular about their children returning home immediately after school hours expect on those days when they stay on for co curricular activities. It may be noted that the responsibility of the authorities ceases immediately after school hours

Parents are requested not to send their children to school if they are medically unfit or until after the quarantine period, if they have been suffering from any infectious diseases such as chicken pox, measles, mumps, etc. If a student is absent because of illness for more than 3 days, the Headmaster, Vice-Principal or the Principal must be informed at once.

The school does not accept any responsibility or liability whatsoever, for any accident that may happen to or any disease that may be contracted by any student or person, either traveling to or from the school, or at the school either during or after school hours or on any other occasion.

Medical Centre in the school is meant for treating minor injuries that may occur, and in case of serious accidents the Govt. Medical Authorities are contacted as speedily as possible, but the school does not accept responsibility for the summoning of such medical authorities or for any treatment given.

Suggestions made by parents in a cooperative and constructive spirit are always welcome and given due consideration. The "Suggestion Box' kept in the school can also be used for such purposes.

The School Management reserves the right to admit or refuse admission to any child and to revise the rules and regulations at any time, if considered necessary.

Any changes in residential address or telephone number may please be immediately notified to the school authorities.

 

DISCIPLINE
RULES OF DISCIPLINE

Students must come on time to school. Latecomers will not be permitted to enter their classes.

Each student possesses a copy of the School Calendar, which should be brought to school daily.

It is obligatory to speak in English in the school and within the school premises.

Personal cleanliness and hygiene is expected of all. Shabby and uncombed hair will not be tolerated

Every student must wear complete school uniform, exact in colour and pattern.

Running, playing or shouting inside school building is forbidden. Perfect silence must be observed while changing classes for language and other subjects.

No student should remain absent on working days. Leave is granted only in circumstances beyond one's control such as sickness. Application for such leave should be submitted to the Principal in person.

If a student is late or absent, he must bring a written explanation in the 'Absent/Late coming Record' in the diary.

Students must return after the holidays on the re-opening day. In case of sickness, a medical certificate must be produced along with the leave application.

Students who remain absent for one month without intimation are liable to have their names struck off the rolls and they may not be re-admitted.

No student may leave school premises except by special permission of the Principal, which is to be presented to the security guard on duty.

The school is not responsible for books, money, clothes and other articles that are lost. Students must take care of their own possessions. It is not advisable to have money or valuable articles with them. All are advised to bring their books, in a bag or case that can be securely locked.

No books (other than School Texts or Library Books), comics, newspapers, periodicals may be brought to the school premises without the consent of the school authorities. Library books issued to the students are to be returned on or before the due date. Fines are levied on late return of the books.

No presents may be given to teachers. On their birthdays, students are not allowed to distribute any gift. They can however distribute sweets.

Any damage done to school property has to be made good. No student should litter the school campus. Baskets and dustbins, specially provided for this purpose, should be used. Any student going against this practice is liable to be fined.

Letters! Telephone calls / messages received in the school from or to students will not be delivered / passed on.

All students are responsible to the school authorities for their behavior, both inside and outside the school. Any reported or observed objectionable conduct inside/outside the school on the part of the students shall render them liable for disciplinary action.

A student who fails consecutively twice in the same class is liable to be asked to leave the school.

Disrespect for and disobedience to superiors and teachers, using abusive and obscene words, writing on furniture and walls and exhibiting other habits or behavior considered by the school authorities as objectionable in a student, will render the student liable to be dismissed.

Students suffering from any contagious or infectious disease will not be permitted to attend school.

Students who are irregular, habitually idle, disobedient and who jeopardize the moral tenor of the school, are liable to be dismissed.

The school maintains a 'Discipline Card' for all students. Entries are made in the cards if a student persists in breaking the rules of discipline and parents are notified accordingly. Students who have more than three entries in their cards are expelled without notice.

Every student should endeavor to keep up the high standard and good name of the school by excelling in refined manners and deportment.

Badges issued to the members of the students council are to be returned at the end of the academic year. Loss of such badges is to be made good of.

 

CORRESPONDENCE WITH MANAGEMENT

Correspondence with the Board of Trustees and the Managing Committee concerning school matters, must be made through proper channel.
