Movie Time will be conducted during this month (date not yet confirmed). This activity aims to bring together education, fun and entertainment for students.
Thematic Assembly titled ‘Gandhi Jayanti’ will be held on this month (date not yet confirmed). Through this assembly, students will commemorate Mahatma Gandhiji‘s 150th birth anniversary by creating awareness of his philosophy of Ahimsa and Satyagraha.
Reading Literacy will be organised on during this month (date not yet confirmed). The objective of this activity is to enable students not only to read confidently and fluently but also engage, reflect & extract relevant information from the written text.
Hand Washing Day will be held during this month (date not yet confirmed). This day will help to increase awareness and understanding of students about the importance of hand washing with soap as an effective & affordable way to prevent diseases and save lives.
Grade 7 & 8 (Girls)
Creative Writing and Poetry (Inter-Class) competition was conducted on October 29th. This competition will help students to enhance their creative skills. It will also be an opportunity for showcasing their caliber working towards their overall development.
Grade 7 & 8 (Boys)
Picnic will be organised on October 31st. The objective for students is to enhance their social skills, team building and personal growth.
Grade 9 (Girls)
Hindi Calligraphy competition will be conducted on October 17th. This competition will help students to develop their good handwriting skills.
Henna Designing competition will be conducted on October 24th. The objective of this competition for students is to strengthen their aesthetic and artistic skills.
Grade 9 & 10 (Girls)
Thematic Assembly titled ‘International Day of Non-Violence’ will be held on October 16th by grade 9 Sapphire House. Through this assembly, students will celebrate Universal Brotherhood and World Peace.
Thematic Assembly titled ‘Diwali, the Festival of Lights’ will be held on October 23rd by grade 9 Emerald House. This assembly will be an opportunity for students to know the importance of the festival Diwali that is celebrated all over India.
Grade 10 (Girls)
Poetry Writing (Hindi / French) competition will be conducted on October 17th. This competition aims in developing students’ creative expressions in the language.
Rangoli Making competition will be conducted on October 24th. This competition will help students in strengthening their aesthetic and artistic skills.
Grade 9 & 10 (Boys)
Thematic Assembly titled ‘Life does not get better by chance, it gets better by change’ will be held on October 23rd. The purpose of this assembly is to encourage individual participation of students, make them aware about the topics and enhance their oral skills by performing a skit in English.
Science Exhibition will be conducted on October 24th. This activity will be an opportunity for our young scientists to put up a wonderful display of their scientific skills through working models, still models, charts and more. It will also help to improve their skills of innovation and scientific thinking.
Picnic will be organised on October 30th. The objective for students is to provide opportunities for experiential learning. It will also help them to encourage the enhancement of their social skills, team building and personal growth.
Unit Test will continue till October 20th. Students learning on portions covered in the month of September will be tested. It will also help to ensure a quick revision of the topics covered in the month of September.
Mid Term Exams will continue till this month of October. Students are given an opportunity to revise the important topics covered in the first term together with the topics completed till date, through a 50 marks test paper.
Grade 11 & 12 (Girls)
Competitions in the offstage events of the House Day 2019 will continue on October 16th for Innuendo Bingo, on October 21st for Master Chef Cooking and on October 30th for DIY Crafts Making. The objectives of these house-wise competitions are to bring out the innate talents of the students in different areas and to nurture the skills like team building, leadership and more in them.
Fortnight Delite will be organised on October 23rd. This activity is a collaborative effort of students from Commerce and Humanities streams. It aims to highlight the importance of eating healthy.
AUDMUN (American University Model United Nations) conference will commence on October 31st. The purpose is to provide an interactive educational experience that teaches in an interesting and enjoyable way about the United Nations. The process affords participants an understanding of how the process of international debate and negotiation that we commonly call diplomacy functions. In this interdependent world, MUN makes for informed global citizens who not only understand the decisions their nation makes but also how those challenges effect politics nationally, regionally and globally. IHS members from grades 8 to 12 will participate.
Special Presentations of Loyola Marymount University (USA) and Santa Clara University (USA) will be organised on October 17th & 30th respectively for grade 12. The purpose of these presentations is to give orientation to students about their programs offer, admission requirements, application process, fee structure and deadline of application.
Hong Kong Polytechnic University & Canadian Universities Fair will be conducted on October 29th for grade 11 & 12. Through this fair, students will meet university admission officers and get first- hand information about their programs offer, admission requirements, application process, fee structure and deadline of application.
Personality Assessment will continue till this month of October for grade 9. The objective is creating self-awareness and giving a holistic picture of students’ dominant characteristics and traits. The knowledge of these traits is significant while making the right career choice.
Aptitude Assessment will continue till this month of October for grade 10. This assessment aims in helping students in making the right career choice.
CPD Program on Microsoft Office Level 2010 will be conducted from October 21st till 31st (tentative dates) for teachers. Through this program, each staff will undergo a 5 days training which includes Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
CPD Program on E-Learning – “Destination Success” and “Use of Interactive White Boards” will be conducted from October 21st till 31st (tentative dates) for teachers. This program will help teachers to understand all collaborative tools needed. It will also help to determine their level and effectiveness in using the interactive white boards.
CBSE UAE Cluster Sports and Games will be organised from October 15th to 17th for Kho Kho, on October 16th & 17th for Tennis, on October 20th & 21st for Table Tennis, on October 22nd & 23rd for Football girls, from October 22nd to 24th for Football boys, on October 23rd & 24th for Handball boys, on October 27th & 28th for Swimming, on October 29th & 30th for Volleyball and on October 31st for Judo.
