Grade 5 & 6 (Girls)
Children’s Day will be celebrated on November 21st. During this day, students will get entertainment.
Picnic will be organised on November 22nd. Students will be involved in an outdoor activity.
National Day will be held on November 29th. Students will be engaged in a talk about this day during assembly.
Grade 5 & 6 (Boys)
Poem Recitation (English and Hindi) will be conducted on November 20th. This competition will help to develop recitation skills, voice modulation and confidence among students.
Grade 7 & 8 (Girls)
Children’s Day that was planned on November 14th is now rescheduled to November 21st. During this day, students will participate in a small programme organised for them. It will be an opportunity to dedicate this day for children and to promote their wellbeing.
Grade 8 (Girls)
Street Play will be conducted on November 19th. Students will perform a street play either in Hindi or English based on the topic given to them that will convey a message to other students.
Grade 7 & 8 (Boys)
Children’s Day was originally scheduled on November 14th and now postponed to November 21st due to conflict with other school activities. The objective of this day is to motivate students to participate in various activities and to encourage their stage performance. It will also create a platform for social awareness.
Beat Diabetes Walk will be conducted on November 23rd. Students will actively participate in social causes.
UAE National Day (Special Assembly) will be held on November 26th. This assembly will be an opportunity for students to show their respect and observe UAE culture & unity.
Grade 9 & 10 (Girls)
Talents Scan – Performing Arts (Group Dance Competition) will be organised on November 25th. During this program, students will demonstrate their talent in dance. It will help to develop their team spirit and stage presence.
Thematic Assembly titled ‘UAE National Day’ will be held on November 28th. The purpose of this assembly for students is to commemorate the National day of UAE, its rich culture and tradition. Yoga and breathing exercises will also be included.
Grade 11 (Girls)
Second Term Exam will be conducted on November 18th. The portions covered from the beginning of the academic year till date will be tested in each subject through 100 marks papers for 3 hours.
Grade 12 (Girls)
First Model Exam will be conducted on November 18th. This exam aim to prepare the students for the Board exam and to close the gaps in learning, if any.
Sessions for Remedial Work and Doubt Clearing for selected students will be organised during this month on non-exam days. The purpose of these sessions is to identify those students who need extra help to prepare well in advance for the Boards rather than struggling in March.
Islamic Elocution will be conducted on November 21st for grade 7 & 8 boys. The purpose of this competition is to make Islamic Education students aware about the subject and value based on it.
Arabic Poem will be held on November 22nd for grade 6. This competition will be an opportunity for students to improve their pronunciation and diction in Arabic.
UAE National Day Rehearsal will be organised on November 26th. Students from grades 5 to 9 will be engaged in a rehearsal in the Auditorium.
47th UAE National Day will be celebrated on November 27th. On this day, students in national attire will perform dance, drama and recite poems. They will pay tribute to the Rulers of Emirates and the people of the UAE. They will also pay homage to the founding father Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in the “Year of Zayed”.
Round Square Conference for South Asian and Gulf Region at IHS will be held from November 18th to 21st for age under 14 to 16 years. Students from Round square schools will share their ideas on environment sustainability. There are 12 participating schools from India. The conference is named as ‘Impeccable Impressions’. It is based on the Round Square IDEALS of Environment and Adventure. The delegates will listen to renowned key note speakers in the field of environment and discuss ways to bring a much needed action to save the environment. They will be shown practical sustainable solutions adopted by several agencies in UAE. They will also visit sustainable buildings in UAE.
The Gulf Debates Competition (Cambridge International School, Dubai) will be conducted on November 23rd for grades 6 to 12 MUN members. The objective of this competition for students is to generate effective critical thinking into primary issues in the given topic. It will help them to broaden international horizons & strengthen sensibility of important issues, be critical of different viewpoints & let debate be a fountain of new ideas, compare & discriminate between different ideas, verify the value of evidence for concepts, resolve controversies, recognize strengths & weaknesses of arguments and make congenial friends with bright minds. This debate competition is following the World Scholar's Cup debate pattern, which has attracted "a global community of future scholars & leaders" and provides a platform to the young generation to "discover strengths and skills you never knew you had". It focuses on bringing them from different cultures together to discuss issues and ideas relevant to today. It will help them to take active part in World Scholar’s cup at different levels.
Parent Talk on the topic ‘7 Uncomfortable Emotions Your Child Needs to Experience’ will be held on November 16th for grade 5 & 6 parents. The objective of this talk is to help parents understand the 7 uncomfortable emotions - Boredom, Frustration, Sadness, Anxiety, Disappointment, Anger and Guilt. They will know the way to teach their wards on how to process them correctly when they arise.
Parent Talk on the topic ‘Stress free Exams: a toolkit’ will be held on November 16th for grade 10 parents. During this talk, parents will be oriented on how to help their wards with organizing, planning and time management while preparing for board exams.
Aptitude Assessment will continue till this month for grade 10 registered students. This assessment will help students in making right Career Choice.
Parent Talk on the topic ‘Managing Challenges’ will be held on November 23rd for grades 7 to 9 parents. This talk aim in helping parents to understand pressure, effects of pressure, situations that cause pressure, skills to manage pressure and their support in managing pressure.
Parent Talk on the topic ‘College Search and Applications, Admissions, Procedures – India) will be conducted on November 23rd for grade 11 & 12. The objective of this talk is to inform parents about the details of admissions to different courses in India.
IELTS Assessment will be conducted on November 17th for grade 11 & 12 registered test takers. The purpose of this assessment for students is to achieve proof of English language proficiency as required for study in foreign countries and UAE as well.
Indian Universities Fair will be held on November 19th for grade 12. Through this fair, students will meet university representatives and get first- hand information about their programs offer, admission requirements, application process, fee structure and deadline of application.
A Workshop will be held for secondary teachers on November 16th in the subject of Mathematics (Grade 9 & 10). This workshop will help teachers to improve their ‘Question Paper Setting’ skills. They will also be trained in handling ‘HOTS’ questions pertaining to analysis, synthesis and evaluation.
CPD Program on E-Learning – “Destination Success” and “Use of Interactive White Boards” will be conducted from November 16th till 30th (tentative dates) for teachers respectively. This program will help teachers to understand all collaborative tools needed. It will also help to determine their level and effectiveness in using the interactive white boards.
A Workshop titled ‘A Creative Teaching Learning Strategies in Mathematics’ will be held on November 17th for middle school teachers in the subject of Mathematics (Grades 6 to 8). This workshop will focus on discussing creative ideas of using mind mapping, gamification and using self-reflection for better learning of Mathematics.
Our team will participate in the CBSE National Athletic Meet to be held at Davanagere (Karnataka). The team will return on November 17th.
