Grade 5 & 6 (Girls)
Labour Day will be celebrated on May 6th. Students will perform activities related to this day. It will help to provide them an insight on the importance of work and respect towards the people irrespective of their work. It will also be an opportunity to inculcate the value of hard work and help them understand the need to follow the ethics of work.
Thematic Assembly with the theme ‘Ramadan’ will be conducted on May 8th. Through this assembly, students will understand the norms followed during the Holy month of Ramadan. It will help to inculcate among them the value of tolerance and secularism. It will also be an opportunity to create a bond of love and kinship with everyone irrespective of any religion.
World Culture activity will be held on May 13th. This activity will help students to understand the cultural heritage of the chosen country and to broaden their perspective about its social, religious & economic norms followed / prevalent in the country. It will also be an opportunity to inculcate among them the feelings of empathy and respect towards the people of the particular country.
Grade 5 & 6 (Boys)
Labour Day (Gifts to School Support Staff) will be organised on May 1st. During this day, students will get a chance to appreciate the commitment and dedication of the school staff. It will also help to encourage the values of giving back to society.
Talents Day will be held on May 7th. This day will be an opportunity for students to exhibit their artistic and musical talents. It will also help to improve their self-confidence.
Grade 7 & 8 (Girls)
Talents Day will be held on May 7th. Through this day, students will be given an opportunity to showcase their talents in dancing and singing. It will also help to develop their organizational skills.
Thematic Assembly titled ‘Ramadan’ will be conducted on May 14th. Students will be engaged in a role play. They will highlight the importance of the topic and the rules to be followed during the holy month of Ramadan.
Grade 7 & 8 (Boys)
A Special Assembly titled Ramadan will be held on May 14th. This assembly will create awareness among students on Islamic culture and values. Speech on importance of Ramadan will also be given.
World Family Day will be celebrated on May 15th. During this day, students will design greeting cards for their parents and grandparents. It will help them realize the importance of being global.
Grade 9 & 10 (Girls)
Thematic Assembly titled ‘May Day’ will be held on May 2nd. The purpose of this assembly is to instill among students a sense of respect and appreciation for different kinds of labour.
Card Making and Tagline Competition (Mother’s Day) will be conducted on May 8th. This competition aims at demonstrating the students’ creativity through art and language. It will also be an opportunity for them to honor their mother, their love and selflessness.
Thematic Assembly titled ‘International Day of Families’ will be held on May 9th. The purpose of this assembly for students is to depict family as a self- sufficient society by itself. It will also help to instill among them a sense of love and respect for one’s family.
Arabic Assembly titled ‘The Essence of Ramadan’ will be conducted on May 13th. This assembly will create awareness among students of the sanctity and ideals of the Holy Ramadan.
Grade 11 & 12 (Boys)
Unit Test will be concluded on May 9th. It will test the learning and teaching of a small portion of all the subjects.
Annual Picnic will be organised on May 10th. This picnic will be an opportunity for students to enjoy Yas Water World, Abu Dhabi.
Grade 12 (Boys)
Entrepreneurship Field Trip will be organised on May 7th for Commerce students. As a part of the curriculum, students will be taken on a field trip to get a first-hand experience and do a project on the same as a part of their practical studies.
Brain O Bee Inter School Neuro Science Quiz Competition will be held on May 10th for grade 11 & 12. Students will participate in this competition to show case their knowledge and quizzing skills.
Book Fair will be conducted from May 6th till 10th. This program will be an opportunity for students to look for books they wish to read.
Information Session on Responsible Online Behavior will be conducted on May 1st for grade 9 boys. This session aim to educate students about responsible social media behavior.
Information Session on Careers in Accountancy & Finance will be conducted on May 6th for grade 12 Commerce girls. The objective of this session is to expose students with the latest trends and developments in Accountancy & Finance sector in order to enable them to choose the right career paths.
A Special Presentation of San Mateo Colleges- Skyline College (USA) will be held on May 7th (tentative) for grade 12. During this presentation, students will get orientation about their programs offer, admission requirements, application process, fee structure and deadline of application.
SAT Mock Test will be held on May 13th for grade 11 & 12. The purpose of this session is to expose students with test preparation and experiential learning to know the coverage & scope of SAT.
Student Talks on the topics ‘Time Management’ for grade 5 and ‘Higher Education Admission’ for grade 12 will be conducted on May 6th & 9th respectively. These talks will help grade 5 students to understand the importance of how to manage time with effective strategies. Grade 12 students will know the details of admission procedures in colleges (US, UK, Canada, EU, SE Asia, & India).
Parent Talks on the topic ‘Bridging Gap’ for grade 5 & 6 and ‘College Search & Admission Procedure’ for grade 11 & 12 will be held on May 11th. The purpose of these talks is to help grade 5 & 6 parents’ deal with the challenges with their preteens and how to bridge the gap. Grade 11 & 12 parents will know the details of admission procedures in colleges (US, UK, Canada, Ireland).
CPD Program on E-Learning – “Destination Success” and “Use of Interactive White Boards” will be held from May 1st to 15th (tentative) for teachers respectively. This program will help teachers to understand all collaborative tools needed. It will also help to determine their level and effectiveness in using the interactive white boards.
Innovation and Everyday Learning for Secondary School Teachers in the subject of Social Science will be held on May 4th. The topics that will be dealt are to develop critical thinking & problem solving skills, research based learning in social science, developing analytical research skills, creating global awareness for understanding world diversities, sensitizing the students about political, social & economic issues facing the world, preparing student for leadership roles, question paper setting skills and developing effective strategies to teach & prepare students to reduce exam stress & optimize performance levels.
A Workshop on Gestalt + Narrative Therapy, Occupational and Massage Therapy will be conducted on May 5th for selected Counsellors. This workshop is a further training for in-house counsellors as part of continuous professional development initiatives.
Students from grades 9, 10 & 12 boys have been selected to represent the school Swimming team in the ISF World School Gymnasiade Summer Games 2018 to be held at Casablanca (Morocco) from May 2nd to 9th.
Our students from grades 10 to 12 boys will represent the school Cricket team in the SelaQui Invitational T - 20 Cricket Tournament – 2018 from May 2nd to 7th at Dehradun (India).
