GRADE-WISE

Grade 5 & 6 (Girls)

PTCS will be organised on June 24th. This session aim to provide a platform for the teachers and parents to come together and work towards the betterment of their ward and help them achieve their goals. It will also help to provide a clear picture of students’ progress.

Talents Day will be held on June 26th. This day will be an opportunity for students to showcase their inherent talent. It will also help them in understanding their abilities like leadership and learn values like cooperation, patience & discernment towards their fellow mates in the course of time. It will help maintain a healthy and sportive spirit in the guise of fun & frolic.

Environment Day will be celebrated on June 27th. Through special assembly, students will portray their understanding about the environment and its need for sustainability. It will also be an opportunity to involve students, to help them become better citizens of nature, to let them grow in the spirit of love & respect towards all things (natural & pure) and to help them have a better healthy life.

Grade 5 & 6 (Boys)

Fun with 3D Shapes activity will be organised on June 18th. This activity will help students to improve their spatial thinking, creativity and innovation.

International Day of Yoga will be celebrated on June 21st. The objective of this day is to inculcate in students the values of self-discipline & self-control leading to improve their concentration and consciousness.

Grade 7 & 8 (Boys)

Environment Day will be celebrated on June 24th. Through special assembly, students will be made aware about environment. Skit and powerpoint presentation will be included. It will help to inculcate among them the responsibility to take care our environment.

Talent’s Day will be held on June 24th. This day will be an opportunity for students to exhibit their artistic & musical talents on stage and thereby improve their self-confidence. They will showcase their talents like singing, dancing, playing instruments and on the spot sketching.

Grade 9 (Girls)

Arabic Calligraphy Competition will be conducted on June 19th. The purpose of this competition is to develop students’ good handwriting skills while promoting the classical form of art.

Grade 9 & 10 (Girls)

Thematic Assembly title ‘International Yoga Day’ will be held on June 20th. This assembly will create awareness among students about the many benefits of practicing yoga. The theme highlights the fact that yoga can contribute in a holistic way to achieving equilibrium between mind and body.

Talent Scan will be organised on June 25th. Through this inter- class competition, students will be provided a platform to showcase their talent in dance. They will perform as per the themes allotted to theme and the rules set for the competition.

Grade 9 & 10 (Boys)

International Day of Yoga (PE Department) will be held on June 21st. This day aim to develop the habit of meditation among students so that they can enjoy more peace of mind and self-awareness, which is essential for a stress-free existence. It will also be an opportunity to educate them about the various means of overcoming stress naturally without resorting to any artificial medicine. Yoga will help to keep their internal organs in the body to function properly by increasing the oxygen and blood flow. Benefits of Yoga and exercises will be taught.

PTCS will be organised on June 26th. The objective of this session is to maintain harmonious relationship between parents and teachers for betterment of the students.

IHS Got Talent activity will be conducted on June 27th.This activity caters the students’ ability to show their versatility in dancing, singing and modeling. It will be an opportunity for them to showcase their talent as per their caliber and interest. It also aims to boost their confidence and self-determination. They will be awarded with certificates, prizes and title to motivate them.

Grade 11 & 12

First Term Examination will be concluded on June 24th. This exam aims to assess student understanding in all the topics covered in the first term. They will test students’ learning in the first term portion taught from April to May, 2018.

Grade 11 & 12 (Boys)

Talents Day will be held on June 26th. Students will compete with each other to showcase their talents.

PTCS (Parent Teacher Contact Session) will be organised on June 28th.This session will be an opportunity for teachers and parents to discuss student’s performance at school.

SUBJECT – WISE (Arts)

Art Competition DIY will be conducted on June 17th for grade 5 & 6 girls. This competition will help students portray their latent creative ability. It will also help them to be resourceful, create the best out of waste, understand the concept of reusing resources and understand the need of sustainability.

Artworks submission for Art Competition with the theme titled ‘Truly Rajasthan’ organised by Manipal Academy of Higher Education (Manipal University, Dubai) will conclude on June 22nd. The purpose of this competition is to enhance students’ skills and to make them competitive for 21st Century.

Our students will participate in the International Art competition with the theme ‘Together Towards Tomorrow’ organised by Chittagong Grammar School, Bangladesh (member of Round Square Schools). This competition aim to enhance the creativity of students. Last date of submission will be on June 31st.

PROGRAM - WISE

Cambridge Dubai MUN’18 will be held on June 23rd for grades 8 to 12 MUN members. This program will be an opportunity for students to develop and experience important social skills such as teamwork & group cooperation, conflict resolution, negotiation, consensus-building, critical thinking, public speaking and listening. Research, debate, negotiation and drafting resolution on global issues will be included.

Round Square Orientation will be conducted on June 25th for grade 7 & 8 girls and on June 26th for grade 5 & 6 girls. This orientation will create awareness among students about the Round Square Program and its importance. Presentation in the school assembly will be included.

DXBMUN Crisis Conclave will be held on June 29th & 30th for grades 9 to 12 members. This International Conference will be hosted by our school. The purpose is to provide an interactive educational experience that teaches in an interesting and enjoyable way about the United Nations. The process affords participants an understanding of how the process of international debate and negotiation that we commonly call diplomacy functions. In this interdependent world, Model UN makes for informed global citizens who not only understand the decisions their nation makes but also how those changes effect politics nationally, regionally, and globally.

COUNSELLING CENTRE

A Student Talk on the topic ‘Grade 11- A curtain Raiser’ will be conducted on June 18th for grade 10. This talk will be an eye opener for students to understand the criteria for stream selection for grade 11 and the various streams that the school offers.

A Parent Talk on the topic ‘Grade 11- A curtain Raiser’ will be held on June 22nd for grade 10 parents. The objective of this talk for parents is to understand the criteria for stream selection for grade 11 and the various streams that the school offers.

CONTINUOUS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

CPD Program on E-Learning – “Destination Success” and “Use of Interactive White Boards” will be conducted during this month (tentative) for teachers respectively. This program will help teachers to understand all collaborative tools needed. It will also help to determine their level and effectiveness in using the interactive white boards.

Design Thinking Workshop by Manipal Academy of Higher Education will be held on June 21st for selected Counselor and two teachers. Design Thinking Model is a useful tool for all aspirational professional of the current generation. It will help them to identify common problems across the fraternity of school counselors, arrive at possible solutions pertaining to the identified problems and test if the solutions can be met with in the most efficient manner.

Senior School Forthcoming August 2018

Last day of submission of artworks for Roy McComish Art Competition by Round Square School on the theme titled “Bring your Difference” will be on August 31st. This competition is for students under 15 to 19 years old. It will help to enhance their creativity and to bring awareness about the topic.
