GRADE-WISE

Grade 5 & 6 (Boys)

Earth Day – Best Out of Waste will be held on April 22nd. This day aim to promote awareness about the environment. It will help students to learn about the importance of natural resources. They will also know the various ways to reuse waste material. They will get engaged in an activity to instill the value of sustainability.

Book Day will be held on April 23rd. Through group reading competition, students will be encouraged to develop a lifelong passion for reading with proper intonation and stress on the syllables.

Grade 7 & 8 (Girls)

Thematic Assembly titled ‘World Book Day’ will be conducted on April 22nd. During this assembly, students will highlight the power of books to promote the vision of knowledge through reading.

Thematic Assembly titled ‘Labor Day’ will be conducted on April 29th. This assembly aims to enable the students to understand the contributions made by workers in various fields of life to the society and to have respect for each & every person.

Grade 7 & 8 (Boys)

Earth Day will be celebrated on April 22nd. Students will participate in Best Out of Waste competition. They will recycle used materials to create awareness about depleting resources on the earth.

Special Assembly titled ‘World Book Day’ will be conducted on April 23rd. The purpose of this assembly is to inculcate among students the habit of reading and to make them understand the importance of books.

Book Cover Making competition - World Book Day will be held on April 23rd. During this competition, students will create a book cover on the topic ‘Respect and Diversity’. It will be an opportunity for them to express their creative ideas to make books appealing.

Grade 9 (Girls)

MEP Talk will be conducted on April 24th. This talk aim to create awareness among students about the Global challenges of Sustainability and Water scarcity.

Poster Making (in class activity) will be held on April 25th. During this activity, students will be engaged in poster making about the global challenges of Sustainability and Water scarcity.

Grade 9 & 10 (Girls)

Orientation Program for Parents will be organised during this month (dates to be confirmed soon). This program will help in shedding light on the syllabus, assessment, framework and school policies. It will also create awareness among parents about the Co -Scholastic opportunities provided by the school.

Thematic Assembly titled ‘Earth Day’ will be conducted on April 24th. This assembly will create awareness among students about the need and the importance of environmental conservation. Social Studies quiz will also be included.

Grade 9 & 10 (Boys)

International Mother Earth Day (in class activity) will be celebrated on April 22nd. This day aim to remind each one of us that the earth and its ecosystems provide us with life & sustenance. It will also help to raise public awareness around the world about the challenges regarding the wellbeing of the planet.

Student Council Election will be conducted on April 24th. The objective of this election is to provide opportunity for students to cast their votes for the deserving candidates and elect the school council members.

International Dance Day will be held on April 29th. This day aim to promote dance and make students aware of the value of dance in all its forms.

Grade 11 & 12 (Girls)

Fortnight Delite will be conducted on April 18th. The objective of this activity is to introduce the concept of a nutritious meal in student's life and good taste. It also aims to provide them interdisciplinary learning opportunities.

A Picnic will be organised on April 25th. The purpose is to help in developing interpersonal skill among students. It will also be a fun bonding experience for everyone involved.

Talents Day will be held on April 30th. This day will be an opportunity for students to share a kaleidoscope of skills & interests in a series of offstage and onstage events ranging from collage making to dance.

Student Council Elections will be conducted during this month (last week).

Grade 12 (Boys)

Salesmanship Field Trip will be organised on April 24th for Commerce students. As a part of their curriculum, students will be taken on a field trip to get a firsthand experience and do a project on the same as a part of their practical studies. It will also be an opportunity for them to gain practical knowledge about the organization such as marketing, distribution, selling techniques and strategies.

Entrepreneurship Field Trip will be organised on April 30th for Commerce students. Students will be taken to Al Rawabi Dairy Farm. It helps to connect the classroom learning with the real world situations.

SUBJECT - WISE

An Inter School Art Competition “SPLASH” will be conducted on April 20th for grades 5 to 12. This competition is for students interested in revealing their artistic talents through fine art (paintings). It will be an opportunity for them to grow as an artist and develop their artistic career.

Arabic Good Hand Writing competition will be held on April 22nd for grade 5 & 6. This competition would enable the students to improve their handwriting in Arabic.

A Visit to Al Farooq Mosque & Centre will be organised on April 24th. 100 students, each from grade 6 girls and boys will visit the Centre. This educational visit will help them know the Islamic architecture. They will learn about some of the practices that Muslims follow while in the Mosque including question and answer session. It will also be an opportunity for them to refer to some of the books in the library.

Arabic Elocution competition will be conducted on April 30th for grade 9. This competition will be an opportunity for students to improve upon the spoken skill. It will also help them in developing confidence.

CAREER CENTRE

SAT Mock Test will be conducted on April 16th for grade 11 & 12. The purpose is to expose the students with test preparation and have experiential learning to know the coverage & scope of SAT.

Information Session on Global Research Immersion Programme (GRIP) will be held on April 20th for grade 11. Through this session, students will get orientation about the benefits of being engaged in a global research project.

COUNSELLING CENTRE

A Student Talk on the topic ‘Bullying Proofing’ will be conducted on April 22nd for grade 7. The objective of this talk is to give students an understanding of bullying and ways how to deal with it effectively.

A Student Talk on the topic ‘Managing and Handling Pressure’ will be held on April 23rd for grade 9. This talk aims to provide students with effective strategies to cope with pressure and deal with resulting emotions.

CONTINUOUS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

CPD Program on Microsoft Office Level 2010 will be conducted from April 16th till 30th for teachers. Through this program, each staff will undergo a 5 days training which includes Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.

GETEX Counsellors Forum will be held on April 18th for selected Counsellors and Special Educator at Hotel Novotel, DWTC. This forum will serve as a platform for them to network, learn and exchange best practices in the interest of students.

A Session titled ‘Working Group on Reading’ will be held on April 27th for Special Educators, Selected LSA and Counsellors. The session will deal on how we can effectively use reading as a teaching tool to bridge learning gaps and enrich the quality of our student’s educators.
